Do you have all of your Christmas shopping finished? (I don't; I'm trying to find a way to avert the mall -- morose am I.)
Let's go through a two-minute drill of what we may expect this Week #15, December 15-19:
We will . . .
1. have SSR log #15.
2. complete Weekly Prescription #15.
3. have TWO vocabulary tests (review test Monday, and #11 Friday).
4. face the AR deadline Wednesday, Dec. 17 at noon.
5. turn the final page of Montmorency: Thief, Liar, Gentleman?.
6. have the opportunity to receive a Holiday EC reading Log.
7. read "The Selfish Giant" by Oscar Wilde.
8. remind select students of computer testing!
Sidebar:
Currently, forty-seven Executives have qualified for the second AR party (AR Geniuses' Football Tailgate)! Amazing!! Are you there? If not, there is still (some) time!Don't forget the more than 160 new AR tests just intalled!
Reminder: you may check out a third novel for the holiday reading recess.

Again, have a great weekend, book lovers. I'll see you Monday.
Yours truly,
M. Kittner
PS -- Only two more days to vote in our polls (one on side, the other at bottom)

Dear M.Kittner,
lol, Miss.BeenThereDoneThat is just a name i use wen i type letters to people, and i put it at the end of my blog posts on my myspace. And yea, im looking forward to wat the ending will be like on "Montmorency". Lol, i have a lot of favorite words: epiphany, elaboration, illusration, condensation, evaporation, quantity, literally, dude, and a bunch more that i cant think of right now. lol.
U have a good weekend too!

Miss.BeenThereDoneThat (haha)
D. Moses,
"Epiphany" and "elaborate" are two of my personal favorties. The latter I always weave into student conferences, and the former into character analysis.
"Dude" and "literally" are quasi-boring, don't you think? Where are all of your "favorite" vocablulary words, like "muddle, salvage, jeer, fabricate, terse, abscond, hoodwink" . . . ?
What are you reading right now?
Before I forget, did you see that more than 160 NEW AR tests have been installed?! If I recall unerroneously, you have read a few novels that were not AR, right? Check on it Monday.
You are stalwartly eviserating AR this year! Sweet! Keep after it; I'm proud of you this year!
M. Kittner
Dear M.k,
Im currently reading Deep, and Dark, and Dangerous. Might I add that i hate that title. Deep, Dark and Dangerous would be better. I didnt know that. Yes two of my books were not AR yet. I look forward to it. Although I happend to notice your someday booklist, and i peered upon a couple of my recommended books. I think you'll love them. This is a random question but, what kind of music do you like?
*D.Moses*
Maybe one day I'll stumble upon a couple of my favorite vocabulary words. =]
Mr.K, I have afishally surpassed my last years total AR points! I'm hoping to finish "Elijah of Buxton" over the break and get those 12 points the first day back.
The next book I plan to read (as soon as it is available) is the second Montmorency book.
L.Carico
"Mr.K, I have officially surpassed my last year's total AR points!"
L. Carico
As I've been saying all year, L. Carico, you are an astounding reader! I think, this year, it's been a combination of the perfect novel(s) balanced with some never-before-seen motivation. Whatever the recipe, you OWN AR this year!
Hey, and I don't see a reason to stop now! Do you? Rack up the points for the auction!
I promised you that one "great" novel -- you've found many (Peck).
Couldn't be more proud of you!
M. Kittner
PS -- I'll reserve _Montmorency_ (#2) for you.
How many people are in front of me for "Montmorency #2"?
L.Carico
0.
You are the first -- you can have it tomorrow, if you like, L. Carico.
M. Kittner
(It's an amazing novel.) I've personally got the 3rd one up next!
thanks for the recommendation of crackback it was really good. Also is there anyway to get extra credit and to get the take home reading logs.
L.manning
I was wondering if you were coaching any sports this year at WMS if so what sport.
L.Manning
L. Manning, I'm glad you enjoyed _Crackback_; it's one of my favorites in the sports fiction genre.
Extra credit: Absolutely. The extra credit holiday reading log will be distributed tomorrow (Thur.); you will earn two points for each "section" that is completed & signed by a parent.
Furthermore, don't forget to keep an eye out for vocabulary words AND literary terms in your reading, earning one point for each (with no limit!).
Sports: Mrs. Broeker & I are coching track this year. . . . and we plan on Walkertown kicking some serious butt!
How's _Damage_ so far?
