Interactive Escape on the Underground Railroad Extra Credit Bloginar

EXPIRED.

Thank you to all students and parents who took advantage of this extra credit opportunity.

Scholars,

Here is your extra credit opportunity for our Voices of Civil Rights unit.

Click on this link:

The page should appear as such:
Next, click on "Begin the Journey." You will be taken through four stages of Escape to Safety. Click on the flashing headphones to listen to Walter, our narrator.
After listening to each stage (or during), you will answer the below questions:
These are all typed as a "comment" on the comment page of the blog. Copy and paste them into your comment box and then just complete each one.

Only fully completed bloginars (comments) will be accepted. This score will replace one current or future test grade of your choice.
SUPER BONUS: If you get a parent to complete this bloginar, you will be allowed to drop an additional test grade. (Your parent must provide a phone number for me to confirm he/she actually participated in the journey.) Note: Your parent's phone number will not appear on the blog.
DO NOT FORGET TO TYPE YOUR NAME ON YOUR BLOGINAR ANSWERS!

Good luck ... and enjoy your escape!

Yours truly,

M. Kittner

H. Freeman,

Great to hear from you, and I love that you are finding journalism much to your liking. (Wasn't that your topic for the career paper last year?)

I would love to read some of your writing -- post it on the blog!

Oh, the new Coben novel (_Caught_) comes out March 23rd!!!!

"Pride, an emotion which refers to a strong sense of self-respect, often clouds the thoughts and actions of the people who possess it. many times pride causes people to do emotionally destructive things because they are not seeing clearly. Pride is universal; everyone will wrestle with it at some point durring their lives, but the outcomes may be different. In "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst, a brother is very prideful and shamed by his handicapped brother. His pridefulness is so strong that it causes the sudden and tragic death of someone he cares about very much."
That is my first paragraph, kittner: edit and give suggestions, please, students: comment and tell me what you think!

Thanks guys!! yall are amazingg!
