Two words... STATE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO WOLFPACK!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it must be painful to see Wake lose but I told you State would beat Wake. Just be ready for the shame come Monday.

I have to hand it to State; they looked fantastic, especially its freshman QB -- not to mention the back-at-full-strength defense.
Wake look pitiful in the second half. It's almost as though the Deacons are getting worse as the year progresses.
Anyway, State deserved the win. Actually, it shouldn't have even been that close: State's #13 dropped at least two TDs.
Good win for State!

I will donate New Moon tomorrow.
S. Schuster
"I will donate _New Moon_ tomorrow."
S. Schuster
You don't have to donate it, S. Schuster -- I just need to read it NOW!!!
M. Kittner
I have New Moon if you need to borrow it...
K. Overstreet

Thanks, K. Overstreet. S. Schuster had an extra copy that she let be borrow today. Thanks for thinking of me, though! We missed you today.

Mr.K, I have finally reached #5 and going to AR AUCTION for the 3rd and final time!!! During my trip to the library today I picked up a copy of "Bud, Not Buddy" by Christopher Paul Curtis. I read one of his books last year "The Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963" It was very good and full of humor.
L.Carico
PS: are you going to read "A Year Down Yonder" as soon as you finish Chicago?
"Are you going to read "A Year Down Yonder" as soon as you finish Chicago?"
L. Carico
You bet! I'll finish _A Long Way from Chicago_ tonight!
Like you, I also have a C. Paul Curtis novel on my short list: _Elija of Buxton_. Got to get through my Peck first, though.
Congrats on number 5! Some harsh competition that is.

Mr. Kittner are there any books you can recommend for me? I've fallen all the way to 8th in the top 10. I just can's find a good book.
Z. Hawkins
"I just can's find a good book."
Z. Hawkins
We'll take care of that tomorrow, Z. Hawkins. No problem.
M. Kittner
Mr.K, if liked Chicago then you will love the rest of his books; I did.
L.Carico
PS: the shotgun is in the sequel.
PPS: in the sequel the story is told by the girl; just to let you know.
Are there any new terms we need to know for tomorrow's literacy elements quiz?
Z. Hawkins
"Are there any new terms we need to know for tomorrow's literacy elements quiz?"
Z. Hawkins
No. All of the terms may be found using the "Lit. Terms/Elements" link on the right side of the blog.

"People only learn through two things. One is reading and the other is association with smarter people." -Will Rogers
Authors of books don't always know what they're talking about. If they don't have any experience in what they're writing then they could easily be wrong. How can you be sure that you're reading a book that was written by an author with experience? Sometimes smarter people can be just like the inexperienced author.
A. Kellner
p.s.- I didn't know where to put this... and I'm not entirely sure what I put was right because I've been up since 5:00 this morning.
Great response, A. Kellner. Your insight is well founded. I agree that, depending on the genre/topic of the work, it is difficult to see an author clearly as "experienced."
M. Kittner
I'll give you your extra credit Monday!
